Meet Your Committee for 2017/2018

We are very excited to announce our committee for 2017/2018. First up taking over the role of President from last year's Molly Wells is Ella Povey! This is Ella third and final year playing for RUWRFC and has previously played as both winger and flanker and we cannot wait to see what plans she has for the team this year.

Next on our committee is our brand new Vice President Charlie George! Charlie will be taking over the position from Ashley Theo Jiaen. This will be her second year playing for RUWRFC having joined as a fresher to the team last year. Charlie has blossomed in her playing position as second row lock and we look forward to seeing what her and our President Ella Povey have in store for the team this season.

Third on our new committee is our lovely new Secretary Zuzia Briggs who will be taking over from recent rugby graduate Nicole Maynard. We have missed Zuzia a lot last season and are very excited to have her back playing for us this year! Zuzia is well know for her role as hooker and prop on the pitch and in her position as Secretary she will be there to help keep the running of the team nice and smooth as well as offering advice to our President and Vice President.

Our next committee member is our new Captain Megan Watts who will be taking over from Sarah Northover ! Like our President Ella this will be Megan's final year playing for the team and we are very excited to see how she and our other captains will lead the ladies in training and upcoming games. Megan is a very versatile player having played as centre and as number 8 in the scrum helping us win those all important line outs.

Next up on our new committee for 2017/2018 is our new Vice Captain Laura Hearn! Laura, like our Vice President Charlie George, joined RUWRFC as a fresher last year . She has had previous experience playing rugby for here county and is know for her fantastic performance as fly half which was previously played by former RUWRFC Captain Sammy Cooper.

Our third and final captain making up our new committee of 2017/2018 is our Second Team Captain Gabriella Millard! Gabriella joined us last season along with several other fresher's and has performed fantastically as one of our many wingers and centres. Gabriella will be in charge of pushing for a second RUWRFC team this year at Fresher's Fair and will be whipping us all into shape with her fitness program.

Our next committee member for 2017/2018 is our new Welfare Rep Christine Quill ! Christine like many of the other committee members will be entering her final year playing for the team. Christine has established herself as a powerful player on the pitch as our hooker in the scrum and will be in charge of making sure our ladies are well looked after both on and off the pitch this season.

Our next committee member for our 2017/2018 season is our returning Media Secretary Manon Jones ! Manon like our Welfare Rep Christine Quill has been playing for RUWRFC since her second year at the University of Reading and this will be her final year playing for the team. Manon kick started the new media stragety for RUWFC last season helping to going more recognition for the women's team and grow the sport on campus. She, like our President Ella Povey, has played both as winger and flanker the pair with the help of Captain Megan Watts have a developed a strong back row that is a forced to be reckoned with on the pitch.

Next on our new committee for 2017/2018 is our Treasurer Aimee Duffus who will be taking over the role from Betty West! Aimee is well known for her playing position as flanker and is often seeing keeping up team spirits with her cracking jokes. She will be in charge of the team's finical funds and making sure we get all of those important purchases ahead of training starting this September !

The next newest member of our committee for 2017/2018 is our first Social Sec Ellie Davidson ! Ellie will be taking over the role from former Social Sec Magan Hambly and will be working with our Second Social Sec ( you'll have to wait to see who it is 😉) . Ellie joined us last year as a fresher and has being playing rugby since she was small. She is well known for her playing position as fly half and scrum half.

Making up our committee for 2017/2018 is our final member and second Social Sec Maddie Benton! Maddie will be taking over the role from former Social Sec and our new President Ella Povey! We can expect some exciting socials and plans for tour this year and we cannot wait to see what will be unveiled in September for our first outing. Maddie like Ellie joined the team last year and has stepped up to the role as full back taking over from former RUWRFC player Romy Barton.
